A New Chapter Begins: Welcome to LifeGoer
"Success is rarely a straight line."
I have learned that lesson more in the last year than ever before.
If you've been following Alta Outside over the past few years, first of all...thank you.
You've watched this dream grow from a simple idea into sketches, prototypes, countless revisions, late nights at my sewing machine, and a product that has become so much more than I ever imagined. What started as a desire to solve a problem in my own life has slowly grown into a mission to help others spend less time worrying about their gear and more time living their adventures.
But behind the scenes, the last year has been one of the most difficult seasons of this entire journey.
There were moments when I questioned everything.
Many of you know that I found myself in litigation over my Favorite Bag design. It was emotionally exhausting. On top of that, the company involved began using many of the advertising ideas and themes I had spent so much time creating—including calling their own product their "Favorite Bag."
It was discouraging.
It was frustrating.
And if I'm honest...
It hurt.
For a little while, it completely knocked the wind out of my sails.
Then came another disappointment.
I was pursuing manufacturing opportunities that looked incredibly promising, only to have doors suddenly close. Companies stopped responding. Exciting conversations faded away. Just when I thought things were moving forward, I found myself starting over again.
Then my trademark application was denied.
Another setback.
Another unexpected obstacle.
At times it honestly felt like every step forward was followed by two steps backward.
So I did something I don't do very well.
I stopped.
I prayed.
I stepped away from the pressure.
Instead of constantly trying to force doors open, I decided to trust that if this dream was meant to happen, the right doors would open in the right time.
And while I waited...
I sewed. I played. I went on adventures and tested my old prototypes. I dreamed.
A lot.
Back to Why I Started
There is something incredibly therapeutic about creating with your hands.
Instead of dwelling on everything that wasn't working, I poured that energy into designing.
One bag became another.
One idea became five.
Designs that had lived only in my sketchbooks for years finally came to life.
This summer, my family and I had the opportunity to actually use many of those new designs on our own adventures.
Road trips.
Camping.
Traveling.
Lake days.
Everyday life.
And something amazing happened.
Every single time I used one of my own bags, I found myself smiling.
The pockets worked.
The organization worked.
The features solved the exact problems I had designed them to solve.
For the first time in months, I wasn't thinking about lawsuits or trademarks or manufacturers.
I was simply reminded why I started this company in the first place.
LifeGoer has never just been about making bags. It's about the lifestyle. Who you are.
It's about helping people spend less time searching for their things and more time making memories with the people they love.
When God Redirects the Plan
As I continued praying, I felt something unexpected.
Peace.
Not about winning every battle.
Not about proving I was right.
But about letting go.
I realized I was holding tightly to a brand name because it represented years of hard work.
Alta Outside had become part of me.
Walking away from it felt impossible.
But sometimes we hold onto something good so tightly that we miss something even better waiting just ahead.
Eventually I made the difficult decision to abandon the trademark and start over.
Completely.
Honestly...
It felt terrifying.
Starting over wasn't in my plans.
But I believe God had a better one.
Then... LifeGoer Was Born
The new name came unexpectedly.
The moment I heard it...
I knew.
LifeGoer.
It wasn't just another business name. It's who I have always been.
It represented everything I wanted this company to become.
Because LifeGoer isn't about camping.
Or hiking.
Or sports.
Or travel.
It's about living life fully.
It's about showing up prepared for whatever the day brings.
Whether that's taking your kids to soccer practice...
Catching a flight...
Heading to the lake...
Going to work...
Helping a friend move...
Taking a weekend adventure...
Or simply making everyday life a little more organized. (mostly this)
LifeGoer represents all of it.
Because life itself is the greatest adventure we'll ever experience.
And I want to build products that help people enjoy more of it.
One Miracle After Another
Looking back now, I can see God's hand in so many details.
The LifeGoer domain was available.
The Instagram username—after months of being unavailable—suddenly became available at exactly the right time.
My attorney immediately began working on the new trademark.
I am completely rebuilding the new website from the ground up.
Every page.
Every photograph.
Every color.
Every word.
Everything has been redesigned to better reflect what this company truly stands for.
Looking back, I can honestly say that what once felt like roadblocks may have actually been redirections.
More Than a Bag
As I've built this company, I've realized something.
People don't just buy products.
They buy stories.
They buy purpose.
They buy into people who refuse to quit.
This journey has become about so much more than creating the perfect bag.
It's about building something that reflects resilience.
Faith.
Adventure.
Family.
Preparation.
Organization.
And living intentionally.
That is what LifeGoer stands for.
Become One of the Original 300
As we prepare to officially launch LifeGoer, I wanted to do something special.
Instead of simply offering the first production run for sale...
I'm inviting people to become Founders.
Only 300 people will ever own the Original Founders Edition of The Favorite Bag.
Each Founder will receive a numbered Founders Edition bag, a personalized Founder Certificate, exclusive Founder gifts, a handwritten note from me, and a lifetime Founder number that forever marks them as someone who believed in LifeGoer before the rest of the world discovered it.
Years from now, when LifeGoer has grown into everything I hope it can become, those 300 people will always know they were there from the very beginning.
That means something.
Thank You
If you've followed this journey...
If you've encouraged me...
Shared a post...
Given feedback...
Prayed for me...
Or simply believed this dream was worth chasing...
Thank you.
More than you know, you've been part of building this.
I truly believe the best chapters are still ahead.
The website is almost ready.
The rebrand is almost complete.
The Founders Collection is coming.
And I cannot wait to finally share LifeGoer with all of you.
Thank you for believing in this dream.
I'll see you on the next adventure.
— Jessi Shock
P.S.
If you've been following this journey for a while, I hope you'll consider becoming one of the Original 300 LifeGoer Founders.
Years from now, I hope you'll be able to look at your Founder Number and smile, knowing you believed before anyone else did.
That means more to me than you'll ever know.
One Bag. Every Journey. 🤍
